HDR10+ Technologies LLC, the industry group behind HDR10+, has announced the availability of new HDR10+ GAMING titles from some of the top developers in the game industry—namely, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty from CD PROJEKT RED and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III from Sledgehammer Games, both of which are now available and include support for the relatively new standard, introduced in 2022.

Here’s what the industry group had to say about HDR10+, which, similar to Dolby Vision, leverages dynamic metadata to optimize picture quality, but is unique in that it’s open source:

HDR10+ dynamic metadata delivers a number of benefits, including outstanding brightness and contrast; robust standardization; ease-of-implementation; global certification; no licensing fees and seamless compatibility with HDR10. HDR10+ GAMING extends these benefits to game content and displays and automatically calibrates the HDR levels between them.

“The use of HDR10+ technologies has grown exponentially to fully encompass a variety of platforms and providers”, said Bill Mandel, co-manager of HDR10+ Technologies LLC, in a statement. “Now with the availability of plug-in cards from NVIDIA, game studios and developers can also realize the full benefits of HDR10+ GAMING on certified monitors and televisions.”

“HDR10+ elevates the color experience in Cyberpunk 2077 to an entirely new level. Our engine harnesses HDR10+ technology, along with the full capabilities of compatible screens, to produce frames calibrated specifically for each individual monitor. This ensures the best performance on all HDR10+ supported hardware,” added Przemek Czatrowski, Engineering Manager, Rendering at CD PROJEKT RED.

The First Descendant, a game that Samsung previously described as being “the world’s very first HDR10+ GAMING title,” will also be available in the summer of 2024, HDR10+ Technologies LLC confirmed.

Here’s the official reveal trailer for the free-to-play, third-person co-op action RPG shooter from Nexon, which premiered during The Game Awards 2023:

“The format utilizes HDR10+ Source Side Tone Mapping (SSTM), for more accurate game output to compatible displays,” reads a portion of the press release that HDR10+ Technologies LLC shared for HDR10+ GAMING back in January.

“The HDR10+ GAMING standard also includes automated HDR calibration, which automatically sets a TV or display in a low latency reference mode. It can even support variable refresh rates (VRR) at 4K 120fps, for crystal clear picture quality. These and other advanced features enhance overall performance and fully capture the creator’s intent, making gameplay more convenient and realistic than ever.”

A full list of HDR10+ certified products, including TVs and GPUs, can be found on the official HDR10+ website.

An updated HDR10+ GAMING GUI for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will also be available in early 2024, HDR10+ Technologies LLC said.
