The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is not only coming, but it will feature twice the amount of GDDR6 memory that can be found in the current model, according to a new filing relating to two new AORUS gaming graphics cards from GIGABYTE that was published on the official EEC site last week.

Per the @harukaze5719 account, their model names are GV-R76XTGAMING OC-16GD and GV-R76XTGAMING-16GD, both of which hint at a substantial memory upgrade for what is apparently AMD’s next RDNA 3 card:

“Faster. Smoother. Stable. VRAM is a key contributor to graphics performance,” AMD wrote in a blog post last year as part of a marketing campaign that was launched to educate customers about the importance of VRAM when gaming. “Games will run faster (higher average FPS) and smoother (lower, stable time between each frame) in newer games. It also adds stability to your experience. When a graphics card’s video memory hits capacity during gameplay, information that cannot fit must travel back and forth from your system RAM. This causes laggy gameplay and in extreme cases, game crashes.”

“For 1440p gaming at maximum settings, AMD recommends 12GB of VRAM,” the company added. “Average FPS is a good overall metric in understanding game performance, but 1% Low FPS and frame times give you a deeper understanding on how smooth and stable the experience is. VRAM is a critical component in maintaining high FPS stable frame rates, while delivering maximum fidelity in your game.”

AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics cards already feature 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, while the Radeon RX 7700 XT features 12 GB of GDDR6 memory.

The XTX and XT versions of the Radeon RX 7900, AMD’s flagship RDNA 3 graphics card, features 24 GB and 20 GB of GDDR6 memory, respectively.

AMD will launch the Radeon RX 7600 XT this month, according to recent rumors.
