Intel’s new Core Ultra 7 processor 155H is featured in another gaming handheld as OneXPlayer announces its next 3-in-1 device. The OneXPlayer X1 can be used as a tablet, a portable PC with a detachable keyboard, and as a gaming handheld via its removable controllers. The X1 marks the 2nd portable device announced in less than a week to be powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H following MSI’s CLAW gaming handheld.

This 3-in-1 device also includes an OCulink connector allowing it to use external devices such as a graphics card or other PC hardware. This could come in quite handy for users wanting to fully utilize its 10.95″ 2K 120Hz display since its impressive-looking 16-core/22-threaded processor, which while capable of up to 4.8 GHz, and featuring Intel Arc graphics, would likely have a harder time with such a resolution and refresh rate for modern games.

Oculink and OneXPGU

OneXPlayer has shown the X1 connected to its OneXGPU, using Oculink, which houses a Radeon RTX 7600M XT GPU. Testing was done with Cyberpunk 2077 at a resolution of 1920×1200 using medium-quality settings. The gameplay does look very detailed on its display with smooth-looking FPS rendering.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
