Blizzard has announced that it will be celebrating Chinese New Year in Diablo IV with Lunar Awakening, a new holiday event that will allow players of the ARPG to claim new cosmetics, level more quickly with bonus XP, and more. Diablo IV’s MTX store has also been updated with a set of new Town Portal cosmetics called “Dark Pathways,” which can be purchased for $30.
Lunar Awakening dates:
- Starts: February 6, 10 a.m.
- Ends: February 20, 10 a.m. PST
- Available to both Seasonal and Eternal Realms
Activate Lunar Shrines for:
- 50% bonus XP (multiplicative)
- 30% increased movement speed and other buffs
- Ancestor’s Favor reputation for claiming themed rewards
Lunar Shrines also buff existing Shrine powers:
- Artillery Shrine – Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
- Channeling Shrine- Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
- Conduit Shrine – Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
- Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin, and 50 kills summons a second.
- Lethal Shrine – Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
- Protection Shrine – You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.
Additional Lunar Awakening features:
- Nightmare Dungeon Sigils may include an Ancestor’s Favor dungeon affix, which grants 10% bonus Glyph XP upon completion
- Lunar Awakening-themed Whisper bounties will be available throughout the event

- Six unlockable cosmetics
- Additional cosmetics available in Tejal’s (MTX) shop

Blizzard on Diablo IV’s Dark Pathways (Town Portal) MTX:
Traverse all of Sanctuary with the Dark Pathways pack. The Dark Pathways pack includes the Hell and Back bundle containing the Tempest Gate Sorcerer Town Portal, Transit Artery Rogue Town Portal, Netherworld Threshold Necromancer Town Portal, Wildroot Way Druid Town Portal, Warpath Barbarian Town Portal, and 1000 Platinum. Portals can only be used by the applicable character class.
