New AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Overclocking Record Achieved on $140 ASRock microATX B650 Motherboard

saltycroissant has managed to claim the #1 spot on HWBOT’s list of 16x 7-Zip ranking records with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, and while the feat is probably notable in itself, the Canadian overclocker pointed out that he was able to accomplish this on the B650M-HDV/M.2—a B650 microATX motherboard from ASRock that only costs $139.99, according to retail listings found at the time of this writing. AMD offers two versions of the B650 chipset, including an Extreme version that promises additional PCIe 5.0 lanes for NVMe drives.
