PS VR2 Is Getting Official PC Support This Year

The PS VR2, Sony’s next-generation VR headset, is expected to gain support for PC later this year, according to a new post on the PlayStation.Blog that details some of the new titles that are coming soon to PS VR2. Released on February 22, 2023, the PS VR2 remains priced at $549.99.

Gillen McAllister (Manager, Content Communications, Sony Interactive) said:

  • “…we’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5.”
  • “We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”

New PS VR2 games include:

  • The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood | Out today
  • Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate | Out June 27
  • Little Cities: Bigger! | Out March 12
  • Zombie Army VR | Out 2024
  • Arizona Sunshine 2 free update | Out today
  • Soul Covenant | Out 2024

Yasuo Takahashi, PS VR2’s product manager, revealed last year that the headset had been in development since 2017:

After PS VR’s launch in 2016, discussion around what the next generation of VR would look like began in earnest. We went back and reviewed those R&D findings and we started prototyping various technologies at the beginning of 2017. Early that same year, we began detailed conversations on what features should be implemented in the new product, and which specific technologies we should explore further.
