Tim Willits, Saber’s Chief Creative Officer, has posted an update following its departure from Embracer Group regarding its projects. Saber Interactive is one of a growing number of studios that have been let go by Embracer Group as it works on restructuring and the studio has several titles in development. Willits has said that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, and Jurassic Park: Survival are all still in development.

Per Willits’ Social Media Page:

“I have received a lot of questions concerning the status of some of our previously announced projects now that Saber has separated from Embracer. I’m happy to confirm we’re still working on a number of titles, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, and Jurassic Park: Survival. We’re so excited about these titles and can’t wait to share more with everyone soon.”

It was back in November that a delay was announced for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 by publisher Focus Entertainment letting fans know to expect it in the second half of 2024. Its release date is now listed at 9/9/2024. Meanwhile, according to its website, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando which was announced last summer is still listed to arrive for PC and consoles sometime in 2024.

Jurassic Park: Survival

Lastly, Jurassic Park: Survival which was only just announced a few months ago in December, and intended as a direct sequel to the 1993 movie that takes place the day after, does not yet have a release date. The single-player game is being made for PC and consoles.

Game Description:

“Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making.

Survive thrilling first-person action as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to evacuate Isla Nublar, in this single-player action-adventure game and discover a never-before-told story.

Through thrilling encounters, experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”

Even as Saber’s Chief Creative Officer posts this update for these games we’ll likely hear more from the studio down the road since it is involved in developing many other projects as well.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
