WB Games Montréal, the developer behind 2022’s Gotham Knights, has been added as a co-developer for Warner Bros. and Monolith Production’s upcoming Wonder Woman game, which was originally announced in December 2021, according to a new job listing that has been spotted online. Monolith is best known as the studio behind the Middle-earth games (e.g., Shadow of Mordor/War), as well as the classic F.E.A.R. horror shooters.

A listing for the External Development Artist, Level Art position reads:

  • In this role you first mandate amongst us will be to work closely with our team and support the Monolith Productions team on their announced Wonder Woman game!
  • As such, you will specialize in providing support between our internal Level Art team and our external network of global developers for the creation of props, architecture, and natural assets.
  • Under the guidance of the Art Leadership using your art skills and organizational talents you will assist in the feedback cycles to confer best practices and ensure timely deliveries. As such, you will be responsible to review the geometry of organic and inorganic game assets produced by our outsourcing partners to ensure all environmental assets are of the highest quality and conform to the specifications required.

WB Games Montréal’s credits include:

A Warner Bros. rep telling outlets last year that Wonder Woman would not be a live-service game:

Wonder Woman is a single-player action-adventure game set in a dynamic open-world. This third person experience will allow players to become Diana of Themyscira and introduce an original story set in the DC Universe, while also featuring the Nemesis System. Wonder Woman is not being designed as a live service.

Gotham Knights players are saying:

  • “…Gotham Knight is not a masterpiece like the Arkham series, but it is not so bad that you can’t stand it. …But the story. It’s like the worst possible thing ever.”
  • “A lot of the negative reviews are comparing this to the Arkham series which is probably the main cause of its downfall on release and the reason it got so much hate.”
  • “It’s a lovely game – beautiful slick graphics, simple but enjoyable gameplay, competent level design, fluid combat. I have no idea why so many reviews are negative.”
  • “Give the person who made Batgirl’s character model a raise.”
