Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Story Trailer Shows Off Captain America and Black Panther in Amy Hennig’s New Unreal Engine 5.4 Game

Marvel Entertainment has released a story trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, providing the first glimpse at the new narrative-driven, action-adventure game from Amy Hennig—the industry veteran behind legendary series that include Legacy of Kain and Uncharted. Due for release in 2025, the Unreal Engine 5.4 game centers around four playable characters, including Captain America and Black Panther, who are voiced by Khary Payton and Drew Moerlein, respectively, while Stephen Barton is providing the score.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra – In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.

  • Khary Payton: Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and WWII-era Black Panther
  • Drew Moerlein: Steve Rogers/Captain America
  • Megalyn Echikunwoke: Nanali, a Wakandan spy
  • Marque Richardson: Gabriel Jones, U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos
  • Lyne Renée: Julie, a key ally in the French Resistance
  • Joel Johnstone: Howard Stark, father of Tony Stark/Iron Man

The new story trailer was revealed at Epic Games’ State of Unreal keynote on March 20, 2024, where Skydance New Media and Epic Games announced their ongoing collaboration to bring state-of-the-art visuals to Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. Showcasing the latest features of Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.4, Skydance New Media unveiled the trailer as well as a special sneak peek of a key scene between Captain America and Black Panther in Occupied Paris.
