Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the latest movie in Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures’ MonsterVerse franchise, has performed well in its opening weekend, earning $80 million over the Easter holiday at the domestic box office, entertainment outlets are reporting. The figure, which is just $2.5 million behind what Dune: Part Two, Legendary’s other big spring blockbuster, opened at, brings the MonsterVerse to over $2 billion following its launch in 2014.
