Throughput Benchmarks (SEQ and RND)
CrystalDiskMark
We are using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark sequential and random throughput of read and write performance. For these NVMe SSDs, we are using the NVMe profile in CrystalDiskMark. This tests SEQ1M Q8T1, SEQ128K Q32T1, RND4K Q32T16, and RND4K Q1T1.
The rated sequential speed on the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD is 14,600MB/s read and 12,700MB/s write. In the SEQ1M Q8T1 test, we are definitely hitting those advertised speeds on the sequential read and write performance. In fact, the write performance exceeds the quoted performance. On the read speed, we are getting 14,566MB/s of read speed which is 18% faster than the read speed of the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO FROZR 2TB SSD, offering a substantial upgrade in read performance. 
On write performance, the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD is 11% faster than the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO FROZR, offering even more performance there. The MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD is also faster than the CORSAIR MP700 PRO, which has good write performance itself, but the new MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD edges that out.
In SEQ128K Q32T1 the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD continues it dominance in read and write performance. It beats the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO FROZR 2TB on read performance by 17% and write performance by 10%. It beats the CORSAIR MP700 PRO 2TB on read performance by 17% and write performance by 6%.
In RND4K Q32T16 performance the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD is again very strong here, providing the highest random read speed of 7.3GB/s. It edges out the CORSAIR MP700 PRO by 2% and also edges out on the write performance. It’s faster than the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO FROZR by 14% on read performance and is about even on write performance.
In RND4K Q1T1 performance, the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD again edges out everything here on read and write performance. It’s about 1% faster on read performance compared to the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO and CORSAIR MP700 PRO, and also edges out the write speed slightly, and is practically the same on write speed with the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO FROZR.
ATTO
Using the popular ATTO Disk Benchmark, the MSI SPATIUM M580 2TB FROZR SSD is also still at the top of the charts here, offering 13.63GB/s of read performance and 12.09GB/s of write performance. This is 19% faster than the read speed on the MSI SPATIUM M570 PRO and 11% faster on the write performance. Compared to the CORSAIR MP700 PRO it is 18% faster on read and 8% faster on write performance.
