BlizzCon, the annual (or maybe not so annual) gaming convention that Blizzard Entertainment has traditionally held to promote its major franchises every year, including Diablo, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft, will not be held in 2024, according to a news post that was published on the official Blizzard site today. No reason for the cancellation was given, but Blizzard has promised that the show will return at a later time.
Fans can still look forward to several events and game updates, including those for:
- World of Warcraft: The War Within
- Vessel of Hatred (Diablo IV’s first expansion)
- Other industry trade shows and conventions (e.g., Gamescom)
- Overwatch Champions Series’ stops at both Dreamhack Dallas and Dreamhack Stockholm
- Multiple global in-person events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Warcraft
- Several live-streamed industry events
