A mod for Elden Ring will now let players unleash the wrath of the God of War upon their foes in the award-winning game. As if the fast action pace of Elden Ring isn’t enough fans of the game now have the opportunity to use a young version of Kratos to utterly demolish its bosses and other enemies. The mod not only swaps the skin using one from the God of War Ragnarök DLC, but includes his iconic Blades of Chaos along with a custom moveset, weapon skill, and more. As spotted by DSOG this mod is a must-have for fans of both games.

Per DSOG:

“Going into more details, the Blades of Chaos have two-handed and one-handed moves. Moreover, they have a new Weapon Skill for Kratos, called Spartan Slam. Additionally, the Blades have custom weapon sheathing properties on the back of the character, as shown in the God of War games. Not only that but the Blades of Chaos have custom attack and defense parameters and can be upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones. They will also scale with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith.”

Mod Description (per NexusMods):

  • A playable Young Kratos skin. It’s used as chest armor with high stats, but fair enough to get you through the game to the end. You can take the Kratos skin off whenever you please to use other attire and armors.
  • The Blades of Chaos come with a custom moveset; Two-handed, One-handed, Weapon Skill (Spartan Slam).
  • The Blades have custom weapon sheathing properties on the back of the character, as shown in the God of War games.
  • Kratos and his Blades can be purchased at the Twin Maidens, for those who have already started a game save.
  • Kratos is listed as a class if you want to start a new game, it comes with edited stats, an origin description, and new icons.
  • The Blades of Chaos has custom attack and defense parameters and can be upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones; scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith.
  • Kratos and The Blades of Chaos have custom icons in the inventory, and also custom descriptions of the story of the character and weapon.

Meanwhile, rumors continue to circulate that God of War Ragnarök could be the next Playstation game to find its way to PC. If true, PC users could soon also gain access to the DLC used for this mod.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
