A new Developer Update stream for Diablo IV, one that will provide a preview of the action RPG’s fifth season and changes that have been made since the last PTR (Public Test Realm), is scheduled for August 1 at 11 a.m. PDT, Blizzard Entertainment has announced. The news comes a few days after Whoopi Goldberg, the Oscar-winning actress known for Ghost, The Color Purple, and other critically acclaimed films, received the “Key to Hell” from Lilith and Inarius as part of an event celebrating Emma & Clyde, her cannabis brand.
Blizzard writes:
- “Join community manager Marcus Kretz, associate director of community Adam Fletcher, and members of the development team, as they share more details for the next season of Diablo IV.”
- “Tune in to learn more on systems, balance updates and feedback learnings from our recent PTR.”
- “There will also be a Q&A segment at the end of the stream for players to field their questions directly to the team.”

From a report:
Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson and costumed characters from the game series gifted Goldberg with the “Key to Hell” trinket, as the 68-year-old has long been a fan of the game series for over two decades — but, as was the case in the Whoopi Goldberg War Room last year, that fandom was threatened roughly one year ago.
In June 2023, Goldberg shared an impassioned public service announcement via Instagram (which was later deleted), calling out Blizzard for not making the latest series entry available to play on the [Apple Mac] computer system she owned.
