The Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X, the first of AMD’s new Zen 5 desktop processors for delivering what the company says is world-class performance for gamers and creators, are now available for $359 and $279, respectively, but most people are avoiding them and saving up for the Ryzen 9000X3D Series with 3D V-Cache technology instead, according to the latest sales numbers from Mindfactory, one of Germany’s most popular electronics retailers. The Ryzen 5 9600X, a 6C/12T CPU with 5.4 GHz max boost clock, sold only 10 or so units, while the Ryzen 7 9700X appears to be absent completely, alluding to what could be zero sales.
Mindfactory’s sales for the week ending August 11 include:
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D: 950 units
- Ryzen 7 7950X3D: 130 units
- Ryzen 9 7900X3D: 120 units
- Ryzen 7 5700X3D: 110 units
- Ryzen 7 5800X3D: 50 units
- Ryzen 5 9600X: 10 units
