Cyberpunk 2077 may have improved dramatically since what many say was a disastrous launch, but no matter how hard it tries, CD PROJEKT RED will never be able to restore the level of good will that it had with gamers. This is according to new comments that joint-CEO MichaÅ‚ Nowakowski has shared as part of a new retrospective on what went wrong with the game following its release in December 2020. A 1st anniversary promo for Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077’s first and seemingly final expansion, can be found below.
“None of us were actually even thinking about it in any financial terms,” he continues, “but it’s a problem for the future that we were hoping to build for this company, for its perception amongst fans. And that’s something that, to be honest, we’ve probably lost forever. And yes, you can repair some things, but it’s a certain perception of the company that’s never going to come back. Is that good or bad? I don’t know, but it’s a fact.”
