Noctua and Seasonic have collaborated to create the Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition, featuring a near-inaudible cooling design. Noctua and Seasonic have made a power supply powerful enough for a system with multiple graphics cards and a hefty processor. Thanks to its semi-passive cooling fan control setup, the power supply will not begin increasing fan speeds until it is experiencing around 50% load making it an ideal choice for builders needing a high amount of power but also desiring silent operation when not in heavy usage scenarios. The Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition has launched with a current MSRP of $569.

The Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition has a 94% power efficiency and is 80+ Titanium and Cybenetics ETA Titanium certified for optimal operation during use. It features 2x 12V-2×6, 9x 8-pin PCIe ports, and 6x 6-pin PCIe ports giving users a wide range of system configuration options. Noctua’s award-winning NF-A12x25 120mm fan can operate at ~13 dB(A), a decrease of 8 dB(A) from the previous model that featured a 135mm fan, giving this version a Lamba A++ classification. The Seasonic Prime TX-1600 Noctua Edition is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant and comes with a 12-year warranty.

  • “Even at 100% load, the Noctua Edition runs whisper quiet at ambient temperatures up to 25°C, producing only ~24dB(A) versus ~34dB(A) for the regular model.”
  • “At ambient temperatures up to 25°C, this enables it to run fully passive all the way up to 50% electrical load, making it a fantastic choice not only for systems that require the full 1600W output, but also for ultra-quiet builds that usually need less power.”
  • “The Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition comes with fully modular cables for clean and tidy builds without unnecessary cable clutter. With its subtle dark brown accents, the included cable set is perfect for Noctua themed builds and a visual testament to this unique power supply.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
