Microsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s next-generation video game consoles, the latter of which will presumably be called the PlayStation 6, will be released by 2028, but only one of them will be successful, according to the latest predictions shared by DFC Intelligence, a market analysis outfit that credits itself as having done major research and consulting projects for what is said to be most of the gaming industry’s largest companies. See below for the full slide deck from DFC Intelligence, which additionally includes a projection about how the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the biggest winner of the next console generation, as well as how Grand Theft Auto VI will be a massive blockbuster. (The Switch is currently ranked third in console sales, with 146 million sold following its release in 2017.)
