Conclusion
Today marked the launch and availability of the Intel Arc B570 (Battlemage Xe2) graphics card, aiming for an appealing price point of $229.99. The new ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger 10GB OC video card is based on the Intel Arc B570 and offers a factory overclock and a custom cooling design while at the same time keeping close to the reference pricing of $219 for Intel Arc B570.
The ASRock Challenger Arc B570 10GB OC offers a factory overclock of 2600MHz, giving the video card a boost compared to the 2500MHz of the reference design. It sports 10GB of GDDR6 at 19Gbps, which is great to see at this price point, this should be the norm from now on, 10GB should be the minimum around the lower $200 price point, and it is exciting to see Intel take up that charge and offer that in this price range.
The ASRock Challenger Arc B570 10GB OC is also a very small video card and should fit well into many sized cases. It just simply does not take up a lot of room, in any direction, and uses a standard 8-pin power connector with only a 150W TDP, not requiring a large demand on power either.
Performance Summary
In our performance testing, we had to look back a bit to find relevant video cards to compare with. You see, there is nothing from AMD south of the Radeon RX 7600 8GB in this price range, and there is nothing from NVIDIA south of the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB in this price range. Those are comparable to the Intel Arc B580. Therefore, we actually had to step back another generation to find the GeForce RTX 3050, Radeon RX 6650/6600 XT, and Radeon RX 6600 which fall into this price segment, both when they were new at MSRP, and now at current pricing.
For example, the GeForce RTX 3050 launched at $249 MSRP, and even today, you can find it brand new around $200, which makes it a perfect candidate. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 launched above $300, but if you look at prices right now, the Radeon RX 6600 is available for around $200, or just above this, as well, making it a great candidate. The Radeon RX 6600 XT can be found for $240 right now as well. All of these GPUs, especially the Radeon RX 6600/XT’s have been quite popular in the recent past year, for great affordable deals and GPUs, a lot of people purchased them.
Therefore, since those have been popular options, and we are now into a new generation with Intel offering a $219 GPU with the B570, it makes perfect sense to see what kind of an upgrade that would provide. In our testing, the results definitely had a pattern to indicate that the ASRock Challenger Arc B570 10GB OC offers a much better gameplay experience than all of those video cards we just listed.
Overall, performance is faster, in a lot of places, a magnitude of times faster. It’s a night and day difference in a lot of situations. We also found that Ray Tracing performance is quite good on Intel Arc B570, even usable in some cases at lower levels. It’s a big improvement in RT over RDNA 2. Intel Arc B570 is much faster than the RTX 3050, and RX 6600/XT GPUs, there’s just no disputing that based on our results.
The ASRock Challenger Arc B570 10GB OC (a $229 video card) would be an upgrade from that price segment/class, of GPUs of the RTX 30 and Radeon RX 6000 series right now here in 2025. It is also very unlikely that AMD or NVIDIA will have any cards out in this price range, anytime soon to counter the Intel Arc B570.
We also found that the Intel Arc B570 offered better performance than the more expensive Intel Arc A750 from the previous generation. This is a good generational improvement, and trend, to see, it shows progress.
The CPU Problem
There is but one big issue and that is the fact that Intel Arc B570 does need a modern CPU to perform at its full potential. In fact, not just a modern CPU, but a fast one. The AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is not an old CPU, it is modern, yet due to its performance level, Intel Arc B570 is burdened with it. It’s not in every game, mind you, but there are some that are greatly affected, so much that it makes the games unplayable without mitigations.
We think it is reasonable that a buyer of the Intel Arc B570, spending only $229, would have a CPU that matched that in pricing and matched the theme of being a value build. With a fast CPU, like the 9800X3D, well then there is no problem, and the Intel Arc B570 looks appealing. I would, however, urge gamers to not outrage over this, let’s entertain the hope that Intel can fix these issues with driver releases. Intel is aware of the problem, so now the rest is in their hands. Otherwise, if you are eyeing this affordable beast, make sure you pair it with a decently fast CPU for now.
Final Points
The ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger 10GB OC is coming in at an appealing price point, at $229 MSRP official, it offers more than the reference design by giving you a factory overclock, and a custom cooling solution and components. We found that the clock speed boost results in an actual gaming boost up to 2750MHz, so that means it offers a 10% clock speed increase over the reference design, at a close price point. The cooling solution is steller, it remained very cool, with low GPU temps, and created no noticeable fan noise. It also runs at a low power demand, and with its compact form will fit well in small-form-factor PC builds.
The ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger 10GB OC also seems to offer a substantial performance upgrade in this price segment, compared to AMD’s and NVIDIA’s offerings in this price segment from the previous generations. If you were holding on to an aging video card and did not spend over $250 then, you can now upgrade your performance for that same price and you’ll get a noticeable improvement in the gameplay experience, it offers modern features, good Ray Tracing performance, and XeSS Upscaling, which is right up there as one of the better implementations for image quality.
If you are curious about Intel Arc B570, the ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger 10GB OC offers a great solution. At the time of writing, it is actually available at just $219 at Newegg, making it in-line with reference Intel pricing for B570, which makes the ASRock Intel Arc B570 Challenger a price and performance value with its factory overclock and custom design.
