Gameplay Performance
In the gaming performance below, we are comparing performance at 1440p, as this is the prime target resolution for these graphics cards. We are using an ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti for comparison, these are stock-clocked, reference-clocked GPU cards for the 4070 Ti SUPER and 4070 Ti. We are also using an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT reference card.
Alan Wake 2
In Alan Wake 2, we are running the latest version, which includes updates for DLSS 4 support. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC allows a playable gameplay experience at 1440p with the highest game settings at a smooth and playable 94.2FPS. If you enable DLSS, performance jumps up to 137FPS in this game at 1440p, which is very playable.
The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC improves upon the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER by 11% in performance. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC improves upon the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti performance by 19%. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 7% faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT, which does remarkably well in this game, beating the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER in performance.
When we overclock the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC we get a 10% performance increase from the overclock, which is decent, this brings the native resolution performance up to over 100FPS. With it overclocked, it is now 23% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which does look better.
Black Myth: Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong is very demanding at Cinematic quality, even at 1440p. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC, however, does not offer a playable experience at native resolution in Cinematic quality, it cannot hit 60FPS at native resolution. However, if we enable DLSS the game is very playable at 75FPS average. It is certainly more playable than any of the other cards here.
The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC ends up being 13% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 21% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and Radeon RX 7900 XT. Overclocking the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC improves performance by 12% in this game. With it overclocked, it still cannot reach 60FPS, but with DLSS it is playable. Overclocked it is 26% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.
Cyberpunk 2077
In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p and “Ultra” settings the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is very much playable at over 120FPS. Enabling DLSS further improves that to 150FPS average. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 21% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 29% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. It is 10% faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT, which does well in this game. It seems the new RTX 50 series 5070 Ti is seeing a bigger jump in this game over the RTX 40 series than other games.
When overclocked, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC improves performance by 9%. With this overclock brings the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC to 32% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which is the largest experienced in this review today compared to the 4070 Ti SUPER. This game is an outlier, in that regard.
Dying Light 2
The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is very playable in Dying Light 2 at the highest settings at 1440p with 182FPS average at native resolution, you don’t need DLSS to enjoy it. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 16% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 37% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. These are very good results for this game. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 49% faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
Overclocking the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC improves performance by 8%. When overclocked the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 25% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.
F1 24
In F1 24, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is very playable at 212FPS. Interestingly, the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC has the same performance as the Radeon RX 7900 XT, both produce the same gameplay experience in F1 24. Horizon Forbidden West
In Horizon Forbidden West the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is very playable at 111FPS at native resolution 1440p, no need for DLSS, though with it performance is above 120FPS. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is only 7% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER though, in this game. Compared to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 16% faster. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC is 8% faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
