ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 TUF GAMING OC Edition: power usage

When clocked at default, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition has the lowest power draw of all the video cards in our review today. The difference is slim, as you can see, 3 to 6%. When overclocked, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition takes power right to the edge of its designated TBP. The PowerColor Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 GRE is the most power-hungry of the bunch; as you can see, a 22% difference…..those rabbits get hungry.

Temperature

ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 TUF GAMING OC Edition temperatures

This graph nicely demonstrates what ASUS has put into the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition heatsink design. Only a one-degree difference in temperature at overclock, and the fans remain at default settings. All in all, there is a pretty tight grouping here. The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT is the outlier.

SUMMARY

This review looks at the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition video card. Built in the well recognized TUF theme, the card is well designed and well cooled. It features top-notch ASUS cooling and custom design, using high-quality components and manufacturing, and also offers a very high factory overclock out of the box and enthusiast overclocking with ASUS GPU Tweak III. We found that it manually overclocks well, stays silent, and offers a great GeForce RTX 5070 experience. It's only downside is steep competition from the competition in terms of performance at this price point, and steep pricing with uncertain price structures this generation. Keep an eye on changing pricing and availability if you are interested.
