Power and Temperature
Power

The quoted specification for power usage by AMD for the 9070 XT is 304 Watts. Here we can see that the XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition exceeds that cap in both default and overclocked settings. The default is essentially right at the edge, and overclocked is 12% over. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION uses 9% and 18% less power.
Temperature

Temperatures are quite impressively low on the GPU, a reflection of the excellent cooling setup on both cards. The fan cycle on the overclocked XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition was manually set by adjusting the fan curve in Adrenalin. It ran at 62%. By default, it ran at 36% on automatic settings. The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION is likewise very cool running default settings. Memory temperatures are a bit higher, with the MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION doing quite well, nearly 27% cooler at default settings!

The function of the heatsinks on both these models of video cards is very good. The GPU cooling on the “good” XFX Swift AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT White Gaming Edition bests the premium edition MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti VANGUARD SOC LAUNCH EDITION by 10C. Also, the function of the fans at both default and 60% fan cycle is very quiet. In a closed case, you would not hear fan noise from the video card. All in all, very nice, right there.
