Battlefield 6 has officially been revealed with EA releasing its first trailer for the upcoming next instalment succeeding Battlefield 2042. EA has already stated that it will be holding a multiplayer reveal event next week on July 31, but for now, fans will have to make do with the new reveal and information from a press release, plus there are a few rumors circulating as well.
Battlefield 6 will see a return of a single-player campaign, but that could be a mixed blessing depending on how much content the developers have given it. The premise for both multiplayer and single-player campaigns revolves around Pax Armata, a shady military corp whose grand scheme could start the next world war. The events of Battlefield 6 are said to take place between 2027 and 2030.
“In Battlefield 6, the series’ incredible blend of visceral combat, epic warfare, and player freedom returns. Blow through walls and bring down buildings for a tactical advantage or take to the skies in white-knuckle dogfights. Take part in a war filled with tanks, fighter jets, and sweeping combat at a grand scale but remember: the deadliest weapon is your squad.”

Those interested in the multiplayer reveal event can tune in via YouTube and Twitch on Thursday, July 31, at 11:30 AM PDT / 14:30 PM EDT to join in with Battlefield studios. EA says it will be the “biggest moment” in Battlefield history, and after the broadcast, creators will be on hand to share the first new gameplay streams. One can only imagine how many leaks might arrive before then, given those that began popping up in recent weeks. Speaking of leaks and rumors, it’s thought that Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10. A now-deleted Legal Disclaimer page regarding the standard edition pre-order emphasized that date. Thankfully, Eurogamer managed to snag an image before it was taken down. Another rumor is that it will launch for PC, but on the console front, editions will only be offered for current-gen Xbox and PlayStation models. Pricing is said to be $80 for the base game and $110 for the Phantom Edition.
