Gather up your friends and prepare to return to Purgatory in a quest to righteously blast your way out and unleash the pain in a new Painkiller game. The original classic, released in 2004, was made by People Can Fly and released for PC and Xbox. Developed by Anshar Studios and being co-published by Saber Interactive and 3D Realms, this reimagined Painkiller title is planned for an October 9 release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles. It will support single-player gaming or have up to three friends join in for online co-op demon slaying fun.

“Welcome to Purgatory! You’ve been sentenced for your transgressions against Heaven, but the Voice of the Creator is giving you one chance to redeem yourself. Wield an arsenal of infernal weapons, including nods to the original Painkiller plus totally new creations to discover.”

“Painkiller is a modern reimagining of the classic franchise, featuring online co-op for up to three players and offline play. Battle hordes of demons and titanic terrors across richly detailed gothic environments.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
