ARC Raiders, the new multiplayer extraction shooter from Embark Studios, has hit the ground running, and players can expect more inbound content. Set in Earth’s future, humanity is threatened by mechanized enemies called ARC. Players emerge as Raiders, either in cooperative teams or against each other, to scavenge the surface in order to survive while exploring a world overun by machines.
Per official site:
“ARC Raiders blends the tension from extraction shooters with atmospheric settings from the adventure genre. Lurking threats—from deadly machines to other Raiders—create a constant ebb and flow of intensity, where every moment is charged with the thrill of high stakes. Extract valuable loot and explore the unfolding mysteries of a vibrant, lethal world.”
Available via Steam, EGS, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S game stores ($39.99 base/$59.99 deluxe) and supporting cross-platform play, ARC Raiders managed to engage over 260,000 players on Steam alone, and while numbers from Sony and Microsoft have not been reported, it’s probably a safe guess that total player counts are well over 300,00 and possibly closer to half a million. Meanwhile, it has retained an average of ~250,00 on Steam with a very positive rating from nearly 14,000 reviews and currently holds the #1 sales spot.
