1047 Games has listed its upcoming game, Empulse, on Steam, providing screenshots and game details for the title, said to be inspired by Titanfall and Call of Duty. It was only a few days ago that it was revealed that 1047 Games CEO Ian Proulx had provided Insider Gaming with an exclusive video of Empulse and said more information would be made public soon. Well, it appears the game’s Steam page is up, where a handful of screenshots have been provided along with other game details.

“EMPULSE is an upcoming fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter. Outmove and outgun your opponents across the post-utopian streets of Freehold. Fight for control of mechs to turn the tide of battle for your Crew. “

The 6V6 movement shooter has players combating each other using fast-paced tactics involving wallrunning and Holojumps across various districts featuring different surfaces and layouts. From grappling hooks to mechs and P.A.I.N.T. bombs, players have an assortment of items to utilize in their combat strategies, along with the ability to alter surfaces to aid themselves or hinder opponents.

“Every district in Freehold gives you the surfaces, the verticality, and the routes to chain together movement and find your flowstate.”

Player-controllable mechs spawn on maps and are ready for use by players with heavy weapons and unique abilities. Teams can also choose to take down these mechs as well. As an online multiplayer game, and given the screenshots revealed thus far, it’s unsurprising that recommended PC hardware requirements are fairly modest.

  • Processor: Intel® Coreâ„¢ i5-6600K / Coreâ„¢ i7-4770 or AMD Ryzenâ„¢ 5 1400
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 or AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 580
  • DirectX: Version 11

1047 Games has yet to provide any trailers or gameplay footage to the public, but that could be happening very soon. It has not yet revealed pricing or a release date, but those details could also be published soon.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
