ASUS has made available its latest 34-inch QD-OLED gaming display featuring technology for e-sports and casual gamers alike. The PG34WCDN succeeds the similarly named PG34WCDM from 2024 but now uses a Samsung V-Stripe panel (aka Tandem RGB QD-OLED), which provides improved text quality and offering 40% deeper blacks via its applied BlackShield Film, which also increases scratch resistance by 2.5x over the previous model. The 4K display has a 360 Hz refresh rate, 1800R curvature, and a 21:9 aspect ratio to provide a wider viewing space.

Other notable features an auto KVM switch for controlling multiple devices, multiple OLED protection technologies, proximity sensors, and uniform brightness settings for optimal viewing. For those more accustomed to smaller displays or playing esports, the PG34WCDN can be configured to display in 24″ or 27″ modes as well. It supports VESA Certified DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500, 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, and HDR10 10-bit with a brightness of up to 1,300 nits. Display connectivity includes full-bandwidth DP 2.1 80 Gbps, HDMI 2.1, and USB Type-C supporting up to 90 W power delivery.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
