Would Chris Pratt make a good Link? How stupid would a live-action Ganon look?
Zelda fans will seemingly be getting the answer to these questions fairly soon, as Nintendo has announced that it has been developing a live-action film based on The Legend of Zelda franchise.
Again, this is a live-action film, and not an animated one like the Super Mario Bros. movie that came out earlier this year.
Here’s what Nintendo has to say about its new Zelda movie so far, which will not only involve the guy who co-invented the series, but also the director behind all three of the Maze Runner films, as well as the founder of Marvel Studios:
The film will be produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Director and Fellow of Nintendo and Avi Arad, Chairman of Arad Productions Inc., who has produced many mega hit films.
The film will be produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., and directed by Wes Ball. The film will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., with more than 50% financed by Nintendo. The theatrical distribution of the film will be done worldwide by Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.
Nintendo goes on to say that it is making new movies based on its most popular properties in order to “put smiles on everyone’s faces,” although it’s possible that The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $1.3+ billion box office haul may have had something to do with the decision, too.
And while there’s no word on when Nintendo’s live-action Zelda film will be released, Miyamoto has confirmed that he’s been working on the movie for “many years now.”

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is available now on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and other media, while The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the latest Zelda game, is also out now on the Nintendo Switch for $69.99.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, one of the best-rated games of all time, turns 25 this month.

I see marvel there and I am worried.
The least offensive video-game-based movie I have ever seen. I was honestly surprised that it wasn't an absolute piece of trash. Then again, they took the proper route and did CG. Live-action for Zelda, someone has been smokin' some powerful-@ss drugs to come up with this plan.
A Zelda movie has the potential to be absolutely great.
But so did Warcraft, and Final Fantasy, and I suspect that Zelda will end up about the same.
FWIW, I actually sorta liked the Pokemon movie with Ryan Reynolds. Enough that I didn't regret watching it, but it wasn't good enough for me to have went out of my way to spend money on it. Maybe it was just that I was expecting an utter train wreck and was bored in a hotel with nothing better to do.
