The first-ever VR Games Showcase is a digit-only event focused on updates from VR game studios on upcoming releases and more. Better late than never as VR gaming began taking over from 3D gaming roughly ten years ago. Since then there have been ebbs and flows within the industry and given a somewhat renewed push from AAA studios in 2024, this first-ever VR Games Showcase may have perfect timing to support VR gaming. The event has been created by industry veteran Jamie Feltham (UploadVR and Fast Travel games) and will stream via an official YouTube channel.

Feltham has expressed how the new event is intended to create an atmosphere and feeling similar to other popular gaming events and said, “With the VR Games Showcase, we want to capture the magic of a Nintendo Direct or Xbox Showcase and deliver a major moment for VR gaming.“
“You can expect surprise announcements you didn’t see coming, gameplay deep dives for staple releases, and innovative experiences not possible in any other medium. Whether you have a Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, or PC VR headset, or you just want to see a fantastic gaming showcase with major announcements, you won’t want to miss this.“

The current list of game reveals and studio updates is short but a VR Games Showcase website is expected to launch on July 16 where more updates will be posted along with links for making wishlists and pre-ordering games. The website will also provide links to older games for those looking to learn more about past releases.
