Arma 3, an open-world tactical shooter simulation game that originally launched for Windows PCs on September 12, 2013, has managed to sell 500,000 copies during the recent Steam Summer Sale despite having been released over a decade ago, developer Bohemia Interactive has announced. Bohemia shared the news today in a post on Steam welcoming all of the game’s new recruits, one that includes a quickstart page, information on modding, and more for anyone who’s new to what is regarded as the eighth installment in the long-running series.
Bohemia writes:
- “Welcome to the over 500,000 new recruits that have joined the Arma 3 community during the Steam Summer Sale 2024!”
- “Close to 100,000 of you joined us during the sale’s first day – the highest number of copies sold in a single day dating all the way back to the initial Arma 3 Alpha release in March 2013!”
- “If you are wondering where to get started, we recommend playing the Prologue campaign first. From there, you can play the single-player Showcase scenarios, and then the East Wind campaign.”
- “If multiplayer is more your thing, you can use the in-game server browser to find both official and community run servers with a number of different game modes.”
