GSC Game World has confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be launching on November 20, 2024, and with it comes a new Developer Deep Dive video that delivers some additional insight into the fourth mainline installment of the survival horror shooter series, including not only new footage in 4K @ 60 FPS, but also a full video walkthrough of one of the story quests. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was previously scheduled for release on September 5, but it needed two additional months to fix “unexpected anomalies” (i.e., bugs), according to a statement that GSC shared in late July.
The series currently comprises:
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007)
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (2008)
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (2009)
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (2024)
The new deep dive offers:
- “Interviews and behind-the-scenes of the development process.”
- “Lots of new footage, including world overview, various locations, gameplay and cutscenes.”
- “A full video walkthrough of one of the story quests.”
- “…this is the most in-depth look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 so far!”
