Customers who are facing instability issues with their 13th and/or 14th Gen Intel Core “Raptor Lake” processors have been urged to contact Intel for a replacement CPU, but getting one could take longer than expected, according to a new message from an Intel customer support rep that has been shared online, one that advises it could take “4 to 5 weeks or more” before stock is replenished. The message was posted on the same day that the Core Ultra 200V Series, a new lineup of processors that presumably won’t suffer from the same instability issues, was launched by Intel as part of an extensive showcase.
A message from Intel customer support reads:
- “We have an update for you. I was able to successfully validate your product and it is still under warranty.”
- “However, at the moment, due to stock availability issues, we don’t have an actual or same-part replacement available for the reported unit, Intel Core i9-13900K processor, as well as a higher but compatible replacement, and normally it would take 4 to 5 weeks or more before our stocks are replenished.”
- “We’d like to know if you’re willing to wait 3-4 weeks while we check with our planning team about stock replenishment. We look forward to hearing back from you about this. To allow you ample time to respond/provide the information above, is it okay if we follow up with you on Wednesday, September 4, 2024?”
- “If we have not heard from you, we will check back with you on the date mentioned above to make sure that we can efficiently address your concern. We do apologize for the delay.”

Luke’s thoughts:
No 13900k or 14900k units are on hand by Intel? That seems absolutely wild. Are more 13/14900k chips actually being fabbed in the next 3-4 weeks? Or is this a logistics issue? Given I’ve seen posters talk about their K being replaced with a KF, as well as upgraded from 13th to 14th, it’s crazy they don’t have ANY replacements. Honestly for how bad my chip is, 3-4 weeks is pretty absurd, but maybe I’m just salty.
