Publisher PLAION and developer Dambuster Studios have announced that the free Dead Island 2 Patch 6 is adding some fan-favorite requests. The upcoming free patch is launching the same day as a new Ultimate Edition. It’s a fairly well-known fact that one way to make a zombie killing game more fun is to allow multiple players the opportunity to gang up on them and the Dead Island 2 Patch 6 aims to do just that by adding a new co-op horde mode called Neighborhood Watch. The fun doesn’t stop there as the free content update will also add a new game plus mode, weapons, skins, and game mechanics.
Neighborhood Watch
A new location is being added where slayers can battle hordes. Located in the Venice Canals a group of survivors must defend their frat house against daily attacks with new weapons and skills along with the introduction of traps. There are multiple missions and if players survive the final wave they will be able to unlock new abilities.

- “In addition to the Ultimate Edition, Patch 6 will introduce all Dead Island 2 players to the Neighborhood Watch game mode, a new cooperative horde mode. Developed by Fishlabs in collaboration with Dambuster studios, players will have to work together against swarms of zombies, including a new way to strategize against the undead.”
- “As members of the Bobcats, a fresh trio of College survivors, players must defend their frat house in the Venice Canals from flesh-hungry waves of zombies, using new skills, weapons, and traps (a first in the series).”

- “Team up with your crew to tackle missions, set traps and stockpile a lethal arsenal. And then…brace yourselves for the fifth and final day, when the zombie onslaught hits hard. New Game Plus Mode:
Slayers making their way back for another play-through will now have access to a new game plus mode. The developers have added new weapons and skins but also more enemies, increased difficulty and level cap, plus an additional skill slot.

- “You’ve been asking for it (a lot) and we heard you. Dead Island 2 will get its New Game Plus. In a few months players will be able to dive back into the epic main story with their favorite characters and weapons, cranking up the action with an additional skill slot and increased level cap. But It doesn’t end here: the game mode adds fresh skins and brutal weapons, plus an increased difficulty and brand new foes. Get ready to re-visit HELL-A slayers!”
Ultimate Edtion:
For those who just can’t get enough, there’s a new Ultimate Edition which will include all DLC, character and weapon packs, and cosmetics. From the Haus and SoLa story expansions to the new Kingdom Come: Deliverance II weapons, it’s all there for payers to battle it out to their fullest. Pricing for the Ultimate Edition has not been revealed.
