Steven Spielberg, the American filmmaker who many would consider to be one of the greatest directors alive, having been responsible for steering critically acclaimed films that include Jaws (1975), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), and, of course, Jurassic Park (1993), is a PC gamer, according to new comments that Max Spielberg, his eldest son, shared during a recent interview with Minnmax. Max, who has various credits in the games industry, including game designer for Assassin’s Creed Unity, mentioned that his father’s favorite series is Call of Duty and that he “can’t do controllers,” preferring keyboard and mouse.

Max Spielberg said:

  • “He loves gaming, he’s the one that got me into it. He plays games, he’s a big PC gamer and so that’s kind of our bonding point as well.”
  • “He’s like ‘hey what’s good, what new Call of Duty should I be playing, send me a list of the top five shooters, I’ll get ’em downloaded and we can play ’em together when you come over to the house.'”
  • “It’s always a Call of Duty…he loves Call of Duty, he enjoys the campaign. He’s big into story games and I’m always trying to get him to play Uncharted, y’know, ‘it’s Indiana Jones, you’d appreciate this’, and he’s always ‘I can’t do controllers, I only do keyboard and mouse.'”

A recent report regarding Steven Spielberg’s next project:

…sources tell Deadline Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo is in early talks to join the untitled film from Spielberg, Amblin and Universal. Domingo joins a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson. The pic is based on a story by Spielberg and has the filmmaker’s longtime collaborator David Koepp penning the script.

Universal has dated the film for May 15, 2026, landing it in the summer tentpole zone Spielberg practically created decades ago with such films as Jaws and Raiders of the Lost Ark. It would mark his fist major summer release in quite some time.
