Details for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D could be imminent as AMD has reportedly sent out invitations for what could be its launch announcement. For weeks now there have been numerous leaks and rumors that AMD has been preparing to not only announce its Ryzen 9000X3D Zen 5 lineup but is also getting ready to launch its Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU as early as next month. Hardware information leaker, HXL, has obtained what appears to be an invitation to press and tech industry partners for an upcoming event that is believed to be for the launch announcement of the Ryzen 9800X3D and possibly the 9000X3D series itself. A user has posted an unofficial translation of the invitation which can be read following the one below.

Even if AMD has reportedly sent invitations for some kind of event it’s possible it may not have anything to do with its 9000X3D processors. However, it does coincide with recent rumors indicating a product launch announcement happening next week and it looks like a number of media outlets are on board this will indeed be a release party for the awaited 8-core/16-thread gaming CPU featuring 3D V-Cache technology.

Per TechPowerUp:

  • “AMD China has set up a press event to launch its new Ryzen 7 9800X3D “Zen 5″ processor with 3D V-cache.”
  • “In first-party gaming benchmarks put out by Intel for its upcoming Core Ultra 9 285K “Arrow Lake” processor, the new chip is shown within 3% of the Core i9-14900K, which the current Ryzen 7 7800X3D beats, and the 9800X3D can only push the gaming performance envelope further from here.”

Per VideoCardz:

  • “The company is expected to introduce three SKUs at the same time, but only the 8-core version known as Ryzen 7 9800X3D would appear next month, it is claimed.”
  • “The fact that the box in this teaser says “7” is a clear confirmation of that.”

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
