Sophie Turner, the English actress best known for her role as Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones, is in negotiations to star as Lara Croft in Amazon’s new Tomb Raider series, Deadline has exclusively learned. The show, which is being written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, No Time to Die), has been described by Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios, as being “epic” and “globe-trotting,” although plot details appear to be unknown at this time. News of the latest actress to win the role of Lara Croft arrives just a month after the premiere of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, a Netflix animated TV series that sees Hayley Atwell voicing the iconic adventurer.

Tomb Raider is executive produced by Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson through dj2 Entertainment, Michael Scheel, and rights holders Legendary Television as well as Crystal Dynamics. Greenblatt and Andolina are consulting producers under their Star Party banner. The series is produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.

Woman with zero charisma and athleticism to play Lara Croft? Bold strategy cotton, let's see if it pays off for 'em.

And also casting a ginger in a role where she has to play a brunette . Hollywood's ginger genocide is unstoppable.

Not sure how relevant that comment is when applied to an animated series. Maybe the charisma part ... if that comes across vocally? Unless I've mistaken the post ...

I've got nothing against her but I'm sure there's someone better for this part.
