Monolith Soft, the Japanese video game developer best known for its RPG franchises, including Xenosaga, Baten Kaitos, and, more recently, Xenoblade Chronicles and its various sequels, is now wholly owned by Nintendo, according to new data that has been published on the company’s official website. News of Monolith’s full ownership comes over a decade after Nintendo initially invested in the company, having purchased 80% of its shares from Bandai Namco, its previous owner, in 2007. Monolith’s recent projects include The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (support role) and Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, a trailer for which can be found below.
Set before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, join a cast of new and familiar characters in this original story scenario that connects all three instalments in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Future Redeemed also features new battle mechanics, such as Unity Combo, where two characters can attack in unison.
