The Radeon RX 9070 Series, a new generation of GPUs based on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture that the majority of enthusiasts already know exists but have yet to receive all of the important details, including pricing, relative performance, and date of release, may finally be getting an official unveiling soon, according to a new report out of Taiwan regarding the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, a new “Blackwell” GPU from NVIDIA that is expected to release later this month, featuring 1,406 AI TOPS and a starting price of $749.

“If nothing unexpected happens, AMD will hold a press conference for the Radeon RX 9000 series based on the RDNA 4 GPU architecture at the end of February,” the report sneaks in at the end. “But the details are still to be confirmed.”

News of the Radeon RX 9070 Series’ potential unveiling date comes two weeks after David McAfee, VP & GM of Ryzen CPU and Radeon graphics at AMD, revealed that these GPUs are “looking great” and that a wide assortment of the graphics cards will be available globally when red team releases them next month.

“Can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on the cards when they go on sale in March!” McAfee said, telling his followers that AMD is really excited about RDNA 4 and how the team is hard at work on optimizing the software stack and enabling more FSR 4 titles to ensure a great launch for the Radeon 9000 Series.

Additional information for the Radeon RX 9000 Series comes by way of Frank Azor, AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions, who was interviewed by PC World during last month’s CES event and was queried as to why red team’s latest GPUs and RDNA 4 weren’t given an official unveiling.

“We had an opportunity to wait and see,” Azor explained before going on to tease that what AMD was planning would be good for the industry.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX, AMD’s first RDNA 3 desktop GPUs for gamers, were released over two years ago, on December 13, 2022.

“They deliver exceptional performance and superb energy efficiency to power high-framerate 4K and higher resolution gaming in the most demanding titles,” AMD said of its current flagships when they launched in November that year.
