A new 13-minute exclusive video from IGN shows gameplay from Control Resonant, Remedy Entertainment’s forthcoming next entry in its Control universe. The time around the main protagonist is Dylan Faden, who is searching for his sister, Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) Jesse Faden. Dylan has telekinetic powers, similar to his sister, and in the trailer must fight the Hiss, Mold, and an assortment of interdimensional monstrosities who are escaping through one of several “faults” which have opened across an alternate version of New York. Each fault is filled with enemies that Dylan will have to traverse to acquire new skills.
“The Metro Fault is one of several “Faults” found around this alternate New York. Essentially dungeons, you’ll have to make your way through them in order to acquire the new traversal skill waiting at the end — in this case, Reach, Resonant’s equivalent of a grappling hook. First, though, you’ll have to go deep underground, dodge trains flying at you from all angles, and fight off fungal Mold foes.”

Control Resonant is said to be a direct sequel to Control, where players will further explore the Oldest House. Built using the latest version of Remedy’s Northlight Engine, the game, which Remedy describes as “a paranatural action-adventure RPG” wherein players will once again endure a reality-warping experience, is sure to make use of modern technology for an immersive gaming experience. Control Resonant releases for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 24. A Mac version via Steam is said to launch later in 2026.
“It raises the stakes, scale, and spectacle far beyond the first game, deepening combat, exploration, and storytelling into a memorable, player-driven journey.”
– Remedy Entertainment
Remedy has said the Control Resonant is intended to launch as a complete game, and so it currently has no plans for any DLC, but you never know if the developers will have a surprise or two up their sleeves down the road. Otherwise they have stated they will continue supporting the game post-release with updates and improvements.

Also this supposed to be the protagonist from the first game? There is literally zero resemblance.
What the heck did I just watch???
Looks more like a supernatural Alan Wake sequel.
Between the Alan Wake games, and Control, I've got probably 60-80 hours combined for all into this franchise and pretty sure the only way I'll play this one is if I get it for free or via discount like I've done for several of them. In fact I think the first Control is the only one I've paid for, full price at its launch and then free or a big discount on GOG. The rest were obtained via EGS giveaways or hardware bundles. Never tried Firebreak and no intention of doing so.
It's another franchise where I keep trying to get into it because it does tick off a lot boxes for something I'd like but never fails that I get about halfway in and I'm bored beyond belief. I think they look good and nothing against Remedy but no matter how hard I try, just can't finish any of them but happy for the devs that they've got fans and can stay open.
See this is the sort of game I play with cheats.. because I want to consume the story. I don't GAF about power progression or mastering insanely difficult combat routines. I want to play the game... chill.. try... but within reason and consume the really amazing story that I love.
Background agency fighting off the supernatural. where the badguys are the free mystics or whatrever you want to call them... only to of course at some point flip the script.
I haves spent some time in the White Wolf gaming universe TTRPG's including Mage Assention and this fits right in.
