Once again, the NVIDIA rumor mill is at work, churning out new tech tidbits, and this time it’s another mythical Titan, which could be on the horizon. It’s been a spell since NVIDIA released the TITAN RTX in 2018 for $2,499. That Turing-based GPU was the last of the TITAN class and was essentially replaced by NVIDIA’s other flagship tier, the x90 with the GeForce RTX 3090, 3090 Ti, 4090, and one year ago, the 5090, which launched at an MSRP of $1,999.
Since then, many PC enthusiasts have wondered about the possibility of another TITAN-class card, or at least perhaps another x90 TI upgrade. Rumors of a potential RTX 4090 Ti/TITAN gained traction and credibility after prototype parts surfaced, and at least one mostly complete product was obtained and tested, but that’s the closest we seen of another TITAN since the RTX 20 series, but that could change before the year is out. Overclocking.com (via VideoCardz) has made an interesting claim that NVIDIA is prepping a new consumer flagship GPU, which could launch in the fall. The following quotes have been machine-translated.
“A very high-end RTX 50 series card is reportedly in development, with its release even scheduled for theÂ
Back to School period (early Q3 of this year).”
The claim is based on multiple unrelated sources from different locations across the globe, providing the same information, and are said to be direct, credible sources that are not connected to each other.
“So why are we talking about this? Simply because five or six different sources, from different countries and working for different companies, lead us to believe that this constitutes a much stronger body of evidence than a rumor picked up on a forum.”

This latest rumor is a little surprising given another that began circulating last week. That one claimed the RTX 50 SUPER series had been cancelled, with the current memory chip shortage attributed as the cause. Other rumors along the same lines suggest NVIDIA is also decreasing production of the RTX 50 series in general and possibly focusing its efforts on specific products where profitability is highest. It would be a curious move for NVIDIA, which has zero competition in the halo GPU market segment, to focus its resources on another king of GPUs given current market conditions.
Pricing and Specs for RTX 5090 Ti/TIAN?
It’s no secret that the AIB GeForce RTX 5090 models are going for well over twice MSRP, so it does make one wonder at what price NVIDIA would set for a Ti or TITAN model. NVIDIA could easily set a price similar to the last RTX TITAN at ~$2,499, and folks would snatch it up, just as scalpers would likely double or triple the resell price and still manage to move them.
The RTX 5090 uses the GB202 die and has access to 21,760 out of 24,576 CUDA cores with 32 GB GDDR7 of memory. There have been some folks who have suggested in forums that the RTX 5090 could be upgraded to 48 GB GDDR7, and while NVIDIA would need to increase the CUDA core count, it would encroach upon its enterprise offerings. If released, it also seems likely that this model would get two 12V-2×6 connectors, as this design is becoming less exotic, along with a higher enabled TDP similar to what ASUS and MSI have recently offered. That being said, an RTX 5090 Ti/TITAN could consume upwards of 1000-1500 Watts. All of this, however, is pure speculation and rumor and, for now, should be treated as such.
