Cyberpunk 2077 continues to prove its multi-media appeal, breaking records on Kickstarter for a trading card edition of the game. At the time of this writing, CD PROJEKT RED is reporting that nearly $17 million has been pledged from almost 25,000 backers. This makes the TCG being developed by WeirdCO via a license from CDPR the most-funded game on Kickstarter, but it has also become the biggest crowdfunded game in history (via KitGuru). Cyberpunk has already proved itself successful as a decades-old tabletop RPG, video game adaption and therein a Netflix anime series, not to mention served as inspiration to countless other projects, so it shouldn’t come as a complete surprise that an official trading card game could be in high demand.

“In Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, you’ll put together the ultimate edgerunner crew with characters from across the franchise, pitting them against your opponent as you fight to become a Night City legend. Featuring stunning, custom artwork, Cyberpunk TCG is designed for trading card players, avid collectors, and fans of the Cyberpunk franchise alike.”

While CDPR’s teams are largely at work in creating The Witcher 4, a second Cyberpunk game, and more, the publisher has also been busy licensing its IPs. From trading cards to tabletop games, mobile apps, and a swath of merchandising, fans of its games have much to choose from. CDPR has posted an online database for the TCG and currently lists 46 cards, but not all have been revealed. Interested parties can see it here, searching via color, type, classification, keyword, cost, power, and RAM filters.

The Cyberpunk 2077 trading card game is expected to get an official release in December 2026, and details regarding pledge tiers can be found here. For the low price of $49, early pledges get 2 starter decks, “The Heist” featuring Night City mercenaries and “Embracing Power” featuring the Arasaka Corporation, and dice included in each. There are over 4,000 backers so far for this.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982. Eventually it would end up being a lifelong passion of upgrading and modifying equipment that, of course, led into a career in IT support.
