Unknown Worlds has another hit on its hands after the long-awaited release of Subnautica 2 shot to the top of Steam’s charts. The sequel began its early access stage on May 14 at a price of $29.99 on Steam, where it quickly became the latest top-selling game. It presently has a very positive review rating from over 11,800 players, and the concurrent player count has exceeded 460,000. While not able to overtake the incumbent MMMO’s on Steam, the multiplayer game at least managed 4th on the most played game list, but it holds the number spot on trending games, popular releases, and hot releases charts.

“Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure set on an all-new alien world, developed by Unknown Worlds. Play alone or with friends in 4-player co-op. Adapt to survive by building custom bases and crafting tools. Explore the unknown to uncover the mysteries hidden within the depths.”

Folks who may not have played the first game and its expansion can get all three titles in a bundle for $40.47, which is a half-off discount. While designed as a single-player game, Subnautica 2 supports up to 4-player CO-OP. Explore underwater ruins on an alien planet where you may be on the menu for the local fauna. Adapt to survive using your wits, skills, and tools. Presently, players can choose from four pre-designed characters, but the developers have said more are coming, and they can all be customized.
“Driven from your home by ongoing conflict, Alterra offers you the chance at a new life. But as the colony ship CICADA shepherds you and your fellow Pioneers to your new home, something goes awry. “
