The end is nigh for Destiny 2 as its final update, Monument of Triumph, launched, bringing over 160,000 players back for a valiant sendoff. It may be a deathday for the long-running online multiplayer game, but you’d never know it with the sheer amount of dedicated fans who showed up for the launch of its last update. Bungie has yet to announce when Destiny 2 servers will go offline officially, but the writing is on the wall. For now, players can enjoy one last hurrah. Monument of Triumph sees the return of The Director and includes new armor archetypes, weapons, perks, and catalysts, the return of the Sparrow Racing League, and more.
“The broad scope of this update sees the Director returning to navigate you among destinations updated with new loot, a sweeping overhaul of activity difficulty and rewards, new armor archetypes as well as new set bonus, 25 new Exotic weapon catalysts and perks for older catalysts, and increased vault space and loadout slots to hold your new prizes – plus, the return of Sparrow Racing League!”

“And finally, we come to our final patch notes article for Destiny 2. Well, that’s a bit of a fib. We’ll still have a few maintenance patches and smaller hotfixes after today… but this is our final major patch for Destiny 2.
It’s been an incredible ride. Thousands of patch notes shipped. A ridiculous amount of bugs squashed (released AND unreleased). Hundreds of typos fixed after publish (our bad…). Countless hours in triage meetings looking to do what’s best by our players. Years of overnight shifts in the BNOC (formerly DOC). All for you.”
