The latest addition to AMD’s new family of RDNA 2 graphics cards, the Radeon RX 6700 XT, boasts an unsurprisingly healthy performance uplift over its predecessor. This is according to new benchmarks that have appeared on the Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation database, which show the Navi 22-based GPU beating out the Radeon RX 5700 XT in a handful of Crazy_1080p, Crazy_1440p, and Crazy_4K tests that were performed under similar hardware conditions. The Radeon RX 6700 XT appears to be 36 percent faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT in the 4K category, and 33 percent and 26 percent faster in the 1440p and 1080p categories, respectively.
Ashes of the Singularity | Radeon RX 6700 XT | Radeon RX 5700 XT |
---|---|---|
Crazy_1080p | 9300 | 7400 |
Crazy_1440p | 8800 | 6600 |
Crazy_4K | 7600 | 5600 |
AMD’s Radeon RX 6700 XT will be released in what will presumably be extremely limited quantities on March 18 at an MSRP of $479. Gaming benchmarks leaked earlier this week suggest that red team’s newest RDNA 2 graphics card should be able to compete pretty well against NVIDIA’s alternatives, the GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, but green team’s options are expected to come out on top in games that support ray tracing and have the resource-intensive rendering technique enabled.
