Benchmarks for Intel’s upcoming 12th Gen Core i9-12900K “Alder Lake-S” flagship processor continue to leak out. The latest come courtesy of a user on China’s Bilibili video-sharing site, who shared both CPU-Z and Cinebench results for a qualification sample of the chip. The scores line up with previous leaks and suggest that the 16C/24T Core i9-12900K will top the charts in single-core performance while coming rather close to AMD’s 16C/32T Ryzen 9 5950X in the multi-core department.
The benchmarks were performed on a system with a B660 motherboard and DDR4-3600 memory in Gear 1 mode. Here’s how the scores compare to other chips, as compiled by Wccftech:
The alleged performance of Intel’s Core i9-12900K seems impressive, but its temperatures and power demands could be worrisome. The CPU peaked at 250 watts in the AVX2 mode stress test, hitting temperatures of up to 108°C.
