Some PS4 owners in Europe are reporting they have received the Russian version of Far Cry 6. Since these discs are region encoded, they are blocking those owners from being able to upgrade to the free PS5 version of the game. Ubisoft had similar distribution issues with Assassins Creed Valhalla, with owners also getting the Russian version of that game.
HERE IS WHY YOU CANNOT GET YOUR FAR CRY 6 UPGRADE FOR PS5. @Ubisoft sent out region encoded discs to other regions. *AGAIN* because apparently they didn’t learn from the last time this happened.#FarCry6 #Ubisoft #UbisoftSupport pic.twitter.com/5gfd9XysQd

There is a workaround for the issue. Owners can create a Russian PlayStation account to get the upgrade, but in doing so, they will not be able to access any of the game’s DLC. Ubisoft is aware of the issue and looking into it.
Hey Mark! We’re sorry to hear that you haven’t been able to upgrade your PS4 version of the game to PS5. The team is currently working on this. Thank you for your patience in the meantime. >> https://t.co/gh190Gn68I

Some Far Cry 6 PS4 boxed version owners are reporting that they’ve received the Russian version of the game by mistake, despite purchasing it in the UK.
Users in other European territories such as Germany and Greece are also claiming they’ve received the Russian version on Ubisoft’s official support forum, blocking their free PS5 upgrade.
