AMD is on track to launch its next-generation Ryzen “Zen 4” processors and Radeon RX “RDNA 3” GPUs this year, according to a statement made by president and CEO Dr. Lisa Su, who spoke during an earnings call yesterday regarding the company’s fourth quarter and full year 2021 financial results. Su also noted that AMD has been making significant investments toward wafer capacity, substrate capacity, and back-end capacity as a show of confidence to investors that red team will be better able to fill the inevitably huge demand for its upcoming products. Previous rumors have suggested that AMD’s RDNA 3 family will include some of the company’s first GPUs featuring a multi-chip-module design.

- The company has just turned in its 2021 financials, listing a 68% rise in overall revenue compared to 2020, which includes double-digit percentage growth in terms of both GPUs shipped and revenue.
- The industry hasn’t just been struggling with getting chips out of TSMC—though that is always going to be some sort of a constraint—but other parts of the manufacturing chain have seen price increases and supply problems.
- The demand for graphics cards is voracious, to say the least, so if AMD is able to find a way to sate that demand its market share is going to skyrocket.

- According to the rumors, the Radeon RX 7000 series will be AMD’s first MCM-based GPU architecture for consumers, following the CDNA2 MI200 accelerators introduced last year.
- The RDNA3 architecture is (initially?) to feature three Navi 3X GPU designs, offering up to 60 RDNA Workgroups or 15360 Stream Processors by using two GPU dies.
- It is rumored that there might even be two GPUs with Multi-Chip-Module design: Navi 31 and Navi 32 while the Navi 33 is supposedly a monolithic design.
