AMD Ryzen 7000 to Support DDR5-5200 Native Memory Speeds

Memory manufacturer Apacer has released a slide confirming that AMD Ryzen 7000 and EPYC Genoa processors will support DDR-5200 native memory speeds. This is faster than the specification for 12th Gen Intel Core CPUs (DDR5-4800). The chart also seems to confirm that AMD’s next chips will only support DDR5 memory.

AMD Memory Enabling Manager Andrew Tao recently said the company is planning to make a “big splash” with overclocking potential, and the faster memory is sure to play a role. Both processors are expected to launch 2H22.

As a recent upgrade I'm probably sticking with this CPU/Mobo/Ram for a few years. Now talk to me about new GPU's and I'm a dirty dirty crack addict.

As a child of the 70’s I was part of the many who became enthralled by the video arcade invasion of the 1980’s. Saving money from various odd jobs I purchased my first computer from a friend of my dad, a used Atari 400, around 1982.
