Cal Kestis is set to return in this year’s Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, but his story arc may be far from over. Speaking to IGN Unfiltered, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor director Stig Asmussen revealed that he wants to make a third game in the series, stating that he had always wanted to tell Kestis’ story as part of a trilogy, a tradition that’s been popularized by the mainline Star Wars films. While nothing has been approved at EA yet, Asmussen suggested that a third Star Wars: Jedi game will probably happen if Survivor sells well, which it very well might, if sales figures of the original game are any indication. It being built on Unreal Engine 5 instead of Unreal Engine 4 would also be a “pretty safe assumption.”

From an IGN report:

“We were already talking about the second game,” said Asmussen. “I mean, frankly, we were talking beyond. And these are conversations that, when we’re breaking this story with Lucasfilm, it’s like: ‘Well, where are we going with the second game?’

“I always wanted to see this as a trilogy,” he continued. “How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?

“We had a pretty decent idea of timeframe where we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were going to be, what the tone o the game was going to be, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew was going to factor into that. And there’s ideas of what we could do beyond that as well.”
