Paramount Pictures has officially thrown in the towel and submitted to the wishes of outraged Sonic fans across the world. Director Jeff Fowler announced on Twitter today that the movie is getting pushed back to 2020 so his team can take “a little more time to make Sonic just right.”

His tweet is accompanied by an illustration of Sonic holding up a sign with the new release date: February 14, 2020. Apparently, the hedgehog will be wearing gloves again, as he should be.

One of the better fixes that have been shared thus far is Sucker Punch artist Edward Pun’s interpretation. Hopefully, Fowler has drawn inspiration from it.
